About the contract

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to procure an Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) integrated software solution, including implementation, integration, configuration, testing, training, deployment, technical support and ongoing maintenance. The solution will support the secure electronic generation, authorisation and transmission of NHS prescriptions through the national NHS Electronic Prescription Service and will integrate with the Trust's existing MEDITECH Electronic Patient Record and relevant national NHS services. The proposed solution will be required to support integration and interoperability with relevant national services and standards, including the Electronic Prescription Service, Care Identity Service 2 (CIS2), Personal Demographics Service (PDS) and NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices. The solution must support appropriate clinical prescribing workflows, electronic signing, prescription management, clinical safety, information governance, auditability, operational reporting and interoperability with existing and future Trust systems. The Trust is seeking a scalable, clinically safe and fully supported solution capable of reducing reliance on paper prescriptions, improving operational efficiency and supporting digitally enabled medicines management across appropriate Trust pathway.
